30 Ekim Pazar günü saat 03.00 itibariyle Makedonya’da yaz saati ugulaması sona erdi ve saatler 1 saat geri alınarak resmen kış saati uygulamasına geçilmiş oldu. Türkiye ise yaz saati uygulamasını yıl boyu sürdürme kararı alarak kış saati uygulamasına geçmedi. Böylelikle Makedonya ile Türkiye arasında bulunan bir saatlik fark dilimi iki saate çıkmış oldu.
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nde Resmi Gazete’de yayımlanan karara göre; gün ışığından daha fazla yararlanmak amacıyla 26 Mart 2016 tarihinden itibaren bütün yurtta saatlerin bir saat ileri alınması şeklinde başlayan yaz saati uygulamasının her yıl, yıl boyu sürdürülmesi kararlaştırıldı. Ayrıca, güneş ışığından daha fazla yararlanmak amacıyla tüm yurtta saatlerin yeniden düzenlenmesi hakkındaki 2016/8589 sayılı Bakanlar Kurulu Kararı’nda yer alan “30 Ekim 2016 Pazar günü saat 04.00’ten itibaren bir saat geri alınması” ibaresi de yürürlükten kaldırıldı.
Makedonya ise birincil sebebi elektrik tasarrufu sağlamak olan yaz saati ve kış saati uygulayan ülkeler arasında. Başta AB ülkeleri olmak üzere birçok ülke yaz saati ve kış saati uygulamasını kullanıyor.
Son değişiklikler göz önüne alındığında, örnek olarak Türkiye’de saatler 20:00’ı gösterdiğinde Makedonya’da saatler 18:00’ı gösteriyor olacak.
