Hırvatistan İçişleri Bakanlığından yapılan yazılı açıklamada, kapının yerleştirilme nedenine ilişkin detaylara yer verilmezken, polis güçleri tarafından sınır bölgesindeki çalışmaların dün gece itibariyle başladığı kaydedildi.
Demir kapının, Hırvatistan’a yapılacak olası yasa dışı girişleri engellemek amacıyla inşa edildiği belirtilen açıklamada, bölgede şu an itibarıyla herhangi bir güvenlik tehdidi olmadığı vurgulandı.
Ülke basınındaki haberlere göre, Hırvatistan olası yeni bir sığınmacı akınına karşı önlemler alırken, geçen yıl yoğun sığınmacı akınına maruz kalan ülkenin ilk kez sınırda böyle bir yönteme başvurduğuna dikkat çekildi.
