Gümülcine Belediyesi’nde dün 29 Ocak 1988 olaylarının karar gününü (4 Kasım) anma çerçevesinde sembolik işgal eylemi yapıldı.
Yunanistan’ın Trakya bölgesindeki Gümülcine Belediyesi çalışanları dün belediye binasını sembolik olarak işgal ettiler.
Batı Trakya Türk Öğretmenler Birligi (BTTÖB) ve Gümülcine Türk Gençler Birligi (GTGB)’nin kesin kapatılma kararının yargıtay’da 4 kasım 1987’de onaylanmasını protesto etmek için dün Gümülcine Belediyesi çalışanları eylem yaptı.
29 ocak 1988 tarihinde, isimlerinde “Türk” kelimesi bulunan derneklerin Yunanistan’da Türk bulunmadığı gerekçesiyle mahkeme kararıyla kapatılmak istenmesi üzerine Türk azınlık, Gümülcine’de toplu direniş gerçekleştirmişti. Batı Trakya’nın her yerinden Türkler, Gümülcine’ye toplanmış polisle çatışmaya girilmişti. İki yıl sonra 29 ocak 1990 da yeniden düzenlenen gösterilerde, Yunan radyolarından bir Yunanlının, bir Türk tarafından öldürüldüğü yalan haberi yayılarak Yunan halkı galeyana getirtilip Türklere saldırmalarını teşvik eden yayınlar yapmıştı. Galeyana gelen Yunan halk, bölgedeki Türklere, Türklerin evlerine, Türk dükkanlarına saldırıp yağma yapmıştı. Bunlar olurken polis olaylara seyirci kalmıştı.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
