Bulgaristan’da 1984’te uygulanan zorunlu asimilasyon girişimine karşı düzenlenen protesto yürüyüşü sırasına annesinin kucağında Bulgar askerleri tarafından vurularak öldürülen 17 aylık Türkan Feyzullah, ölümünün 34’üncü yılında törenle anıldı.
Direnişin simgesi haline gelen Türkan bebeğin ölümünün 34’üncü yıl dönümünde Kırcaali’nin Kırkova ilçesine bağlı Mogilyane Köyü’nde bir anma töreni düzenlendi. Törene Bulgaristan’daki Türklerin kurduğu Hak ve Özgürlükler Hareketi (HÖH) Lideri Mustafa Karadayı, DOST Partisi Lideri Lütfi Mestan, Hürriyet ve Şeref Halk Partisi Lideri Kasım Dal, CHP Bursa Milletvekili YükselÖzkan, İzmir Milletvekili Kamil Okyay Sındır ile çok sayıda vatandaş katıldı. Milletvekili Yüksel Özkan, Bulgaristan Türkleri’nin hak ve özgürlükleri uğruna, demokrasinin ülkeye tesis edilmesi ve ülkedeki Türk azınlığının birleştirici etkeni olarak HÖH’ün kurucu lideri ve fahri başkanı Ahmet Doğan’a teşekkür etti.
HÖH Genel Başkanı Mustafa Karadayı da Bulgaristan’da yaşayan Türklere birleşme çağrısında bulunarak, “Yoldan sapmış olan herkesi hoşgörü ve özgürlük bayrağı altında toplanmaya çağırıyorum. Bu olaylar, Hak ve Özgürlükler Hareketi’nin biyografisidir ve totaliter rejimin o olaylarının tekrarlanmaması için, tarihimizi unutmamalıyız. Geçen yıla kıyasla bu yıl artık daha birlik ve kalabalığız” dedi.
