“2016 Türkiye Göç Raporu”na göre, Türkiye’de eğitim alan yabancı öğrenci sayısı 795 bin 962’ye ulaştı.
Türkiye İçişleri Bakanlığı Göç İdaresi Genel Müdürlüğünce hazırlanan “2016 Türkiye Göç Raporu”nun “Yabancılar” başlıklı bölümünde Türkiye’de öğrenim gören yabancı öğrencilere ilişkin bilgilere yer verildi.
Söz konusu bilgilerin hazırlanmasında, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB), Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı, YÖK ve Yurtdışı Türkler ve Akraba Topluluklar Başkanlığı verilerinden faydalanıldı.
Rapora göre, 10 bin 528’i Azerbaycan, 6 bin 600’ü Türkmenistan ve 3 bin 803’ü Afganistan vatandaşı 61 bin 116 yabancı, geçen yıl öğrenci ikamet izni ile Türkiye’de bulundu.
Türkiye’deki üniversitelerde 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında eğitim gören yabancı öğrenci sayısı 103 bin 727. En çok öğrenci 15 bin 36 kişiyle Azerbaycan’dan olurken bu ülkeyi 14 bin 765 öğrenciyle Suriye, 10 bin 642 öğrenciyle Türkmenistan takip ediyor.
Rapora göre, MEB’e bağlı eğitim kurumlarında 232 bin 714, üniversitelerde 103 bin 727 ve geçici eğitim merkezlerinde de 459 bin 521 olmak üzere Türkiye’de eğitim alan yabancı öğrenci sayısı 795 bin 962’ye ulaştı.
Yabancı öğrencilere burs desteği
Türkiye, yabancı öğrencilere burs desteği de sağlıyor. Bu kapsamda, geçen yıl bin 868 yabancı öğrenci, Türkiye burslusu olarak Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığına bağlı yurtlarda barındı. Kendi imkanlarıyla gelen 446, Afganistan hükümeti burslusu olarak gelen 17 öğrenci ile birlikte devlet yurtlarında kalan yabancı öğrenci sayısı 2 bin 331’e ulaştı.
Yurtdışı Türkler ve Akraba Topluluklar Başkanlığı koordinesinde 2016’da 142 ülkeden 3 bin 995 yabancı öğrenciye burs verildi. Geçen yıl burs faaliyetlerinden ön lisans, lisans ve yüksek lisans düzeyinde bin 275 Suriye uyruklu öğrenci faydalandı.
