Hırvatistan’ın başkenti Zagreb’de yerel mahkeme, 29 Sırp paramiliterin 1991 yılında işlediği cinayetlerden sorumlu tutulmasına ilişkin hazırladığı iddianameyi yeterli delil olmadığı gerekçesiyle reddetti.
Yerel mahkemenin Sırp paramiliter gruplar hakkında hazırlanan iddianameyi, savcılığa geri gönderdiği öğrenildi.
Savcının katliam yapmakla suçlanan paramiliter grup için yeterli delilleri toplaması için altı ayının olduğu bildiriliyor.
Savcılık tarafından hazırlanan iddianamede, 29 kişiden oluşan Sırp paramiliter grup, 1991 yazından kış aylarına kadar Hırvatistan’ın Humin, Hum ve Kraskoviç köylerindeki 47 sivilin ve üç savaş esirinin öldürülmesi ile suçlanıyor.
Katliamla suçlanan grubun avukatı İvan Govezdenac, Hırvat adli makamları tarafından hazırlanan iddianamenin ciddiyetten uzak olduğunu belirtti.
Hırvatistan Savaşı, 1991-1995 yılları arasında Yugoslavya’dan bağımsızlığını ilan etmiş Hırvat hükümetine bağlı birliklerle Sırp kontrolü altındaki Yugoslav Halk Ordusu (JNA) ve yerel Sırp güçleri arasında gerçekleşen savaş olarak biliniyor. JNA Hırvatistan’daki operasyonlarını 1992 yılında sona erdirdi.
Hırvat kaynaklarında ‘Domovinski Rat’ (Anavatan Savaşı) olarak adlandırılan bu savaş Sırp kaynaklarında genellikle ‘Rat u Hrvatskoj’ (Hırvatistan Savaşı) şeklinde geçiyor.
