Düzce Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Dr. Nigar Demircan Çakar ve Düzce Belediye Başkanı Dursun Ay’ın Makedonya ziyaretinde tanıştığı ve genetik hastalığı bulunan 8 yaşındaki Betim Seyfullah tedavi için gerekli testlerin yapılması için Düzce’ye geldi.
Makedonya’da annesi Neriman ve babası Adnan ile birlikte hastalığına tedavi arayan Betim Seyfullah, Mart ayında DÜ Rektörü Prof. Dr. Nigar Demircan Çakar ve Düzce Belediye Başkanı Dursun Ay’ın ziyaretleri sırasında durumu Rektör Çakar’a iletti.
Tedavinin Türkiye’de yapılması için işlemlere başlayan Rektör Çakar, bugün Makedonyalı aileyi DÜ Tıp Fakültesi Araştırma ve Uygulama Hastanesi’nde ağırladı.
Tedavisi için testlerin yapıldığı Betim Seyfullah’ın tedavisi Rektör Çakar tarafından takip edilecek.
Gazetecilere açıklamalarda bulunan DÜ Rektörü Prof. Dr. Çakar, Makedonya Üsküp ziyaretleri sırasında kendilerine Betim Seyfullah’ın tedavisi için talep geldiğini söyledi.
Betim Seyfullah’ın genetik bir problemi olduğunun tespit edildiğinin ve bazı sıkıntıların olduğunun tespiti üzerine harekete geçtiklerini aktaran Çakar, şöyle konuştu:
“Betim Seyfullah’ın genetik bir problemi olduğu ve gelişimi ile ilgili bazı sıkıntıların olduğu tespit edilmiş. Ancak Makedonya’da tedavi imkanı olmadığı iade edilince yardımcı olmak istedik. Ziyaret sonrasında gerekli testlerin burada yapılıp yapılmadığı konusunda iletişim kurduk, ülkemiz ve hastanemiz olanakları ile testlerin tamamını burada yaptık.”
Çakar, Türkiye’nin yardıma muhtaç her bölgeye ulaştığını ifade ederek “Ülkemizin sosyal bir devlet olduğunu ve sağlıktan sosyal politikalara kadar tüm olanaklarıyla ne kadar gelişmiş olduğunu gördük. Bu sayede olanakları ve imkanlarımız için şükrettik. Emeği geçenlere teşekkür ediyorum.” diye konuştu.
Betim Seyfullah’ın annesi Neriman Seyfullah da, çocuğunun tedavisinin Makedonya’da yapılamadığını, Türkiye’den sağlık eli uzandığını belirtti.
Çocuğunun genetik bir rahatsızlığının olduğunu vurgulayan Neriman Seyfullah, “Çocuğum küçük yaşlarda konuşamıyordu, daha sonra açıldı konuşması. 2013’ten beri doktora gidiyoruz. Betim’in epilepsi hastalığı da var, tedavi görüyor. Makedonya’da doktor test yapmak istedi ama bu test Makedonya’da yapılmıyor.”
Türk heyetinin ülkelerini ziyaretinde Betim’in tedavisi için harekete geçildiğini anlatan Neriman Seyfullah “Türkiye’ye geldik ve testlerimiz burada yapıldı. Herkese çok teşekkür ederim.” şeklinde konuştu.
Hastanede testleri yapılan Betim Seyfullah’ı, Düzce Belediye Başkanı Dursun Ay ziyaret ederek hediye verdi.
