Kosova, Uluslararası Kriminal Polis Teşkilatı İnterpol’e üye olamadı.
İnterpol’un Dubai’de düzenlenen genel kurulunda yapılan oylama Kosova üye olabilmek için yeterli oy alamadı. İkinci tur oylamada da durum değişmeyerek, Kosova’ya İnterpol üyesi olabilmesi için yeterli sayıda oy verilmedi.
Kosova oylamanın gerek birinci turunda, gerek ise ikinci turunda , İnterpol’e üye olabilmek için yeterli sayıda oy alamadı. Oylamanın ikinci turunda Kosova’ya 68 evet, 51 karşı ve 16 çekimser oy kullanıldı.
Kosova 11 oy için İnterpol üyeliğini kaçırdı.
Kosova Hükümeti’nden tepki
Kosova Hükümeti, İnterpol’e üyelik başvurusunun yapılan oylama sonucu kabul edilmemesi nedeniyle duyduğu hayal kırıklığını dile getirdi.
Hükümet tarafından yapılan yazılı açıklamada, Kosova’nın İnterpol’e üyeliğini siyasi değil teknik bir girişim olmasına rağmen, Sırbistan’ın İnterpol konusunda yürüttüğü acımasız kampanyasının, bu ülkenin Kosova’ya karşı olduğunu, iki ülke arasındaki ilişkilerin normalleştirilmesinden yana olmadığını kanıtladığı belirtildi.
“Kosova’nın üyeliğine karşı yapılan oylamanın , sadece suç ve suç unsurlarına hizmet edecektir. Hiç kimse oylamanın sonucundan memnuniyet duymamalı” ifadesine yer verilen yazılı açıklamada, Kosova’nın üyeliği için evet oyu veren tüm ülkelere teşekkür belirtildi.
