Bulgaristan Ulusal Radyosu (BNR) genel müdürü Radoslav Yankulov Kırcaali bölgesinde Türkçe yayın yapacak radyo için lisans talebinde bulundu. Talepte Kırcaali Radyosu’nun yerel halka günde 3 saat Bulgarca, 3 saat Türkçe yayın, günün geri kalan saatlerinde ise yayını BNR’nin “Horizont” Ulusal Bulgarca programının dolduracağı yer alıyor. Lisans izni verilmiş olsaydı Kırcaali Radyosu deneme yayınlarına 1 Aralık 2015 tarihinde geçecekti.
Elektronik Medya Kurulu (SEM)’in toplantısında talebe gelen tepkiler nedeniyle lisans kararı ertelendi. Kurulun toplantısına başkanlık eden İvo Atanosov ve SEM üyelerinden Mariya Stoyanova’ya göre bu ugulama yerel halkın entegre olmasına değil, bölünmesine sebep olacak.
Öte yandan konu ile ilgili siyasi partilerden de tepki geldi. VMRO partisinden Angel Cambazki “Çok ilginç, birini entegre etmeye çalışıyorsun, ama ona toplumun konuştuğu dilden değil de, yabancı bir dilden konuşuyorsun” diyerek Türkçe yayın yapacak radyo hakkında tepkisini ortaya koydu.
