Başkent Atina’da düzenlenen League of Legends Red Bull Player One turnuvasında birinciliği Mert Abdullah Hüseyin göğüsledi. Yunanistan’ın en iyi 16 League of Legends oyuncusu birinciliği kazanarak Brezilya’da düzenlenecek olan dünya şampiyonasına katılarak ülkesini temsil etmek için yarıştı. Rakiplerini teker teker eleyen Mert Yunanistan’ı Brezilya’da temsil etmeye hak kazandı.
29 Eylül tarihinde Red Bull ve Riot Games şirketlerinin sponsorluğunda düzenlenen turnuvada Yunanistan genelinden 16 genç klavye başına geçti. Daha önce online olarak düzenlenen eleme turnuvasında başarı yakalayan gençler final için Atina’da düzenlenen Digital Expo Fuarı kapsamında organize edilen Red Bull Player One final oyunlarında kozlarını paylaştı.
Normal şartlarda 5×5 (beşer kişiden oluşan) takımlar halinde oynanan oyun bu turnuvada bireysel performansların gözlenebilmesi için 1×1 (bire bir) şeklinde oynandı.

Turnuvanın masrafları ise sponsorlar tarafından karşılanacak. Atina’da düzenlenen turnuvanın masraflarını da aynı şekilde sponsorlar üstlenmişti.
Brezilya’da Yunanistan’ı temsil edecek 19 yaşındaki Mert ise Gümülcineli. Genç Mert, Selanik şehrinde bulunan Aristo Üniversitesinde Bilgisayar Mühendisliği okuyor. Uzun yıllardır League of Legends oyununu oynayan Mert Brezilya’da Yunanistan’ı ve bölgemizi temsil edeceği için gururlu olduğunu ifade etti.
