Eski Yugoslavya ülkelerinde hala 10 binden fazla kayıp var

Eski Yugoslavya ülkelerinde 1990’lı yıllardaki savaşlarda hayatını kaybeden 10 bin 281 kişinin cesedi, aradan geçen 20 yılı aşkın süreye rağmen hala bulunamadı.

Sırbistan’da faaliyet gösteren Eski Yugoslavya’daki Kayıp ve Kurban Aileleri Dernekleri Birliği, bölgedeki savaşlarda hayatlarını kaybeden ve cesetlerine hala ulaşılamayan kişilere ilişkin araştırmasını kamuoyuyla paylaştı.

30 Ağustos Uluslararası Kayıp İnsanlar Günü dolayısıyla yayımlanan raporda, 1992-1995 ve 1998-1999 yıllarında bölge ülkelerinde yaşanan savaşlarda yaşamını yitiren 10 bin 281 kişinin cesedinin hala kayıp olduğu bildirildi.

Uluslararası Kızılhaç Örgütü ile iş birliğinde hazırlanan raporda, 1992-1995 arasındaki savaşın ardından Bosna Hersek’te 6 bin 606, Hırvatistan’da ise 2 bin 27 kişinin cesedinin halen bulunamadığı ifade edildi.

1998-1999 yıllarında savaşın yaşandığı Kosova’da ise halen bin 648 kişinin cesedinin kayıp olduğu kaydedildi.

Raporda ayrıca savaşların ardından 20 yılı aşkın zaman geçmesine rağmen kimlik tespit işlemlerinin oldukça yavaş ilerlediğine dikkat çekilerek, ilgili kurumlara bu konuda daha hızlı hareket etmeleri çağrısında bulunuldu.
