Kuzey Makedonya Cumhurbaşkanı Stevo Pendarovski, seçimlerin yapılabilmesi için 8 günlük olağanüstü hal (OHAL) ilan etti.
Cumhurbaşkanı Stevo Pendarovski yaptığı açıklamada Kuzey Makedonya Anayasası’nın 125 ve 126. maddelerine göre, Hükümetin önerisi ile 15 Haziran tarihinden başlamak üzere 8 günlük OHAL ilan ettiğini açıkladı.
Ülkedeki siyasi partilerin 12 Nisan’da düzenlenmesi gereken fakat koronavirüs salgını nedeniyle belirsiz bir tarihe ertelenen seçimlerin 15 Temmuz’da yapılması için uzlaştığını kaydeden Pendarovski, “Olağanüstü hal ilan etme kararı, seçimlerin halk sağlığını korumak için Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından ilan edilen koronavirüs salgını bağlamında düzgün bir şekilde hazırlanmasını ve özellikle seçim sürecinde önlemlerin alınmasını sağlamak için verildi.” ifadelerini kullandı.
Pendarovski, “8 günlük OHAL seçim sürecinin kesintisiz devam etmesini, Meclis Başkanının seçimlerle ilgili karar vermesini ve Devlet Seçim Komisyonu tarafından 15 Temmuz’da seçimlerin yapılması için değiştirilmiş bir program getirmesini sağlayacak.” diye konuştu.
Ulaşılan siyasi anlaşmanın ardından Cumhurbaşkanı Pendarovski, seçim sürecinin kaliteli ve eksiksiz bir şekilde hazırlanmasını ve uygulanmasını sağlamak için kurumların yetki alanları dahilinde tüm faaliyetlerini zamanında yerine getirilmesini beklediğini kaydetti.
Cumhurbaşkanı Pendarovski, ülkenin Avrupa-Atlantik perspektifi göz önüne alındığında, adil, özgür ve demokratik erken parlamento seçimleri beklediğini belirtti.
