Dernek Başkanı Kamuran Atakan, törenden önce AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, “Bu akşam bizim, Türkiye’de yaşayan 30 milyon Rumelilinin bir nevi sınav akşamı gibi. Biz Türkiye’nin dışına taşmış başarıların ödüllerini bu akşam kendilerine takdim edeceğiz. Onlarla gurur duyuyoruz.” dedi.

Bu yılki “Best Of Rumeli” kapsamında “Onur Ödülü”ne Kenan Şahinler ile tarihçi yazar İlber Ortaylı değer görüldü. Ortaylı, sahnede yaptığı konuşmada, ödülü almaktan dolayı şeref duyduğunu ifade ederek, “Balkanlar bir imparatorluğun parçası olmaktan çok, bizim kaybolan vatanımızdır. Rumeli kıtası içimizde yaşamazsa, bu memleketin kültürü inkişaf edemez.” diye konuştu.
“En İyi Kadın Sanatçı” ödülünü Zara’nın, “En İyi Erkek Sanatçı” ödülünü Gökhan Tepe’nin aldığı törende, İvana Sert ise “En İyi Modacı” seçildi.
“En İyi Rumeli Müziği Yapan Erkek Sanatçı” ödülü Rumeli Ekrem’e, “En İyi Rumeli Müziği Yapan Kadın Sanatçı” ödülü ise Gamze Matracı’ya verildi.
Yönetmen Mustafa Uslu “Çiçero” filmiyle “En İyi Film” ödülünü, Çağan Irmak “En İyi Senarist Yazar”, İlker Ayrık “En İyi Televizyon Programcısı” ödülünü aldı.
“En İyi Kadın Oyuncu” ödülüne bu yıl Birce Akalay değer görülürken “En İyi Duayen Sanatçı” ödülüne Havva Karakaş değer bulundu.
Törende ayrıca, “En İyi Akademisyen” kategorisinde Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör, “En İyi Gazeteci” kategorisinde Hulki Cevizoğlu, “En İyi Çıkış Yapan Rumelili Genç Sanatçı” kategorisinde Rumeli Yakup ve “En İyi Sosyal Medya Fenomeni” kategorisinde Rumeli Sofrası ödül aldı.
