Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, TSK’nın Suriye Milli Ordusu’yla birlikte Suriye’nin kuzeyinde PKK/YPG ve DEAŞ terör örgütlerine karşı Barış Pınarı Harekatı’nı başlattığını belirterek, “Amacımız güney sınırımızda oluşturulmaya çalışılan terör koridorunu yok etmek ve bölgeye barış ve huzuru getirmektir. Barış Pınarı Harekatı ile ülkemize yönelik terör tehdidini bertaraf edeceğiz.” ifadelerini kullandı.
“Tüm bölge halkını terörün pençesinden kurtaracağız”
Barış Pınarı Harekatı ile oluşturulacak güvenli bölge sayesinde Suriyeli sığınmacıların ülkelerine dönmelerinin sağlanacağını bildiren Erdoğan, şunları kaydetti:
“Barış Pınarı Harekatı ile Suriye’nin toprak bütünlüğünü koruyacak, tüm bölge halkını terörün pençesinden kurtaracağız.”
Erdoğan, harekatta görev alan askerlere başarılar dileyerek, şöyle devam etti:
“Harekatta görevli kahraman Mehmetçiklerimizin her birini alnından öpüyor, kendilerine ve yerel destek unsurlarına muvaffakiyetler diliyorum”
