Türkiye Milli Savunma Bakanı Akar, Kuzey Makedonya’nın NATO’ya tam üyeliğinden dolayı Başbakan Yardımcısı ve Savunma Bakanı Radmila Shekerinska-Jankovska’ya gönderdiği kutlama mesajında, “Türkiye bu süreci başından beri desteklemiştir ve ihtiyaç olması halinde üyelik deneyimlerini paylaşmaya hazırdır.” ifadesini kullandı.
Akar, Jankovska’ya gönderdiği mesajında şunları kaydetti:
“İttifakın en yeni üyesi olan sizlere, en içten dileklerimle NATO’ya hoş geldiniz demek istiyorum. Üyeliğiniz NATO’yu güçlendirmektedir. Ayrıca, üyelik sürecindeki bağlılığı ve kararlılığı nedeniyle Kuzey Makedonya’yı tebrik ediyorum. Bildiğiniz üzere, Türkiye bu süreci başından beri desteklemiştir ve ihtiyaç olması halinde üyelik deneyimlerini paylaşmaya hazırdır. Kuzey Makedonya’nın NATO üyeliğinin Türkiye ve Makedonya arasındaki ikili ilişkileri de geliştireceğinden eminim.”
