Twitter üzerinde organize olan Türk kullanıcılar, Facebook’un bu kararlarını “#FacebooktaSansür” etiketi ile eleştirdi. Söz konusu etiket kısa zamanda dünya listesine girdi.
Türk kullanıcılar Facebook’un kararına tepki gösterirken, yapılan sansürün bir an önce kaldırılması ve sayfaların açılması gerektiğini söyledi. Facebook Gezi Parkı olayları öncesi de benzer şekilde Milli ve İslami haber yapan sayfaları kapatmıştı.
