Batı Trakya Türk Azınlığı Danışma Kurulunca (BTTDK) yayımlanan bildiride Türkiye’deki darbe girişiminin Türk halkının iradesine ve demokrasiye yönelik yasa dışı ve hukuksuz bir girişim olduğu belirtilerek, bu eylemin Batı Trakya’daki Türkler tarafından şiddetle kınandığı kaydedildi.
BTTDK açıklamasında, “Türkiye’nin istikrarını zedeleme amacını taşıyan bu eylemin Türk halkı tarafından gerekli karşılığı bulacağına inanıyoruz. Her zaman olduğu gibi bugün de Batı Trakyalı soydaşlar Türk halkının ve devletinin sonuna kadar yanında olacaktır.” ifadesine yer verildi.
Rodop Potami milletvekili İlhan Ahmet de yayımladığı bildiride, Türkiye’de vatandaşların darbe girişimine karşı ortaya koyduğu direnişi saygı ve takdirle karşıladığını belirtti. Ahmet, “Çağdaş toplumlar için demokrasi ve siyasi özgürlüklerin korunması vazgeçilmez bir değerdir . Bu zor anlarda kalbimiz ve aklımız Türk halkı ile birlikte.” ifadelerini kullandı.
