TDP tarafından Cumhurbaşkanlığı seçimleriyle ilgili dün yapılan açıklamada şu ifadelere yer verildi:
Nisan 2019 Cumhurbaşkanlığı seçimleri kapsamında Başbakan Sn. Zoran Zaev ve heyeti ile yapmış olduğumuz görüşmede parti olarak hassasiyet ve beklentilerimizi dile getirdik. 1 Mart 2019 tarihinde hükümet koalisyonunda yer alan ve AB ülkesi olma yolunda hükümetin çalışmalarına destek veren partilerin temsilcileri ile gerçekleştirilen istişare toplantısında ortak aday çıkarma konusundaki görüş ağırlık kazanmıştır.
Alınan bu ortak kararın parti genel merkezlerinde de değerlendirilmesi kanısına varılmış ve partimizin en yüksek karar alma organı olan Merkez Meclis toplantısında gündeme alınmıştır. Son dönemlerde ülkemizi doğrudan ilgilendiren anayasa değişiklikleri, dolayısı ile isim değişikliği, NATO ile imzalanan üyelik protokolü , haziran ayında başlayacak olan AB uyum yasaları değişiklikleri ve bu kapsamdaki bütün siyasi gelişmeler en ince detayına kadar tartışılmış ve Kuzey Makedonya Türk’leri olarak bütün bu süreçlerde anayasa ile garanti altına alınmış olan haklarımızın korunması, geliştirilmesi, Anavatanımız Türkiye Cumhuriyeti ile yıllardır var olan dostluk ilişkilerinin ve stratejik ortaklığının devam ettirilmesi konusunda ısrarcı olduğumuzu muhattaplarımıza bildirmiş bulunmaktayız.
Bugün gerçekleştirilen MYK VE MMK toplantılarında görüşmelerin bütün içeriği üyelerimiz ile
paylaşılmış ve yapılan değerlendirmelerden sonra Türk Demokratik Partisi olarak 31 siyasi partinin de
desteklediği ortak aday olan Stevo Pendarovski’nin desteklenmesi kararı alınmıştır.
