“Bulgaristan’ın tutumu, Türkiye ile Avrupa Birliği’ne (AB) üyelik görüşmelerinin sürdürülmesinden yanadır” diyen Borisov, sözlerini şöyle sürdürdü:
“AB’nin Türkiye ile geri kabul anlaşması ve ülkenin katılım sürecine ilişkin görüşmeler meselesi karşılıklı çıkarların yararında olan ve uzun vadede olası insani krizleri önleyebilecek güvenilir ve istikrarlı bir araç ve mekanizma olarak algılanıyor. Bugüne dek bu yönde gösterilen çabaların elde ettiği başarıları koruyarak, Avrupa ve yakın bölgelerindeki birçok ülkede yaşanılan göç krizi ve içi siyasi sorunlarına rağmen girişimlerimizi sürdürmeliyiz.”
Borisov, Bulgaristan-Türkiye sınırındaki sığınmacı göç baskısının azaldığına vurgu yaparak, bunun Türkiye devletinin gösterdiği gayretlere bağlı olduğunu ifade etti.
Başbakan Borisov, Kasım ayında Bulgaristan’ın güneydoğusunda Harmanlı şehrinde bulunan mülteci kampında çıkan ayaklanmanın ardından, olayda güvenlik güçlerine karşı saldırgan tavır sergileyen Afgan kökenli 140 kişinin ülkelerine yollanmak üzere sınır dışı edildiklerini anlattı.
Borisov’un açıklamasına göre yine Afgan kökenli diğer 200 kişi ile ilgili geri yollanma işlemlerin hızla sürdürülüyor.
