Porsche, LMP1’de kullanacağı 919 Hybrid otomobilini güncelledi.
Dünya şampiyonu takım ilk kez sezon içerisinde, daha rekabetçi olabilmek adına üç farklı aerodinamik paket kullanacak.
Alman üreticinin yeni 919 Hybrid modeli siyah, beyaz ve az da olsa kırmızı renkleri barındırıyor.
Porsche, otomobilin ön aksında yer alan elektrik motoru, elektronik güç ünitesi ve yeni jenerasyon lityum iyon bataryaların daha efektif ve güçlü olması üzerine çalışmış. Ayrıca yeni ön aks tasarımı daha fazla ayar yapılabilmesi için değiştirilmiş.
Porsche’nin LMP1 Müdürü Fritz Enzinger şunları söylüyor: “900 bg’den daha güçlü LeMans Prototipimiz şampiyonluğunu korumaya hazır.”
Takımın sürücü kadrosu değişmedi: Mark Webber, Brandon Hartley ve Timo Bernhard geçen yılın pilotlar şampiyonluğunu elde etmişlerdi ve bu sezon 1 numaralı otomobiller yarışacaklar. Romain Dumas, Neel Jani ve Marc Lieb ise 2 numarayla pistlerde olacak.
